AI & Automation Roadmap Sprint

A fixed-scope piece of work that tells you where automation actually pays in your business, and where it does not.

Most automation projects start in the wrong place

The usual pattern is that someone sees a demo, gets excited, and picks the most visible process rather than the most expensive one. Six months later there is a tool nobody uses and the original bottleneck is still there.

The problem is rarely the technology. It is that nobody measured where the time and money actually go before choosing what to build. A process that looks painful is not always the one costing the most, and the one costing the most is often invisible because everyone has worked around it for years.

What you get

The deliverables, specifically.

A map of where the time goes

We work through your operation and record what actually happens, step by step, including the workarounds and the spreadsheets nobody mentions in the org chart. You get the real process, not the documented one.

A shortlist, ranked by return

Every candidate for automation, scored on what it costs you today, what it would cost to fix, and how long the fix would take to pay for itself. The ones we recommend against are listed too, with the reason.

A costed, sequenced plan

What to do first, second and third, with an estimate against each. Sequenced so that early work makes later work cheaper rather than harder.

The technical shape of it

Where the data lives, what needs to talk to what, what has to change in your existing systems, and the risks worth knowing about before you commit budget.

How it runs

From first call to handover.

01

Scoping call

A short conversation to agree what is in scope, who we need to speak to, and what a useful answer looks like for you.

02

Discovery

Interviews with the people doing the work, and a look at the systems they use. This is the part most assessments skip, and it is where the real findings come from.

03

Analysis

We cost the current state, model the alternatives, and test our own assumptions against what you told us.

04

Readout and handover

A working session walking through the findings and the plan, then the document itself. It is yours: use us to build it, use someone else, or use it to decide not to.

Is this the right piece of work?

A good fit when

  • You know something is slow or expensive but not exactly what
  • You have been quoted for a build and want to sanity-check the premise first
  • You are weighing several ideas and need them ranked on evidence rather than enthusiasm
  • You want a plan you can take to a board or a funder

We will say no when

  • You already know precisely what you want built and just need it built. Go straight to a project.
  • You need a decision this week. Discovery takes longer than that to do honestly.

The sprint ends in a document you own outright. There is no obligation to build anything with us afterwards, and no part of the recommendation depends on you doing so.

Other ways we help

Custom Business Systems

Software built around how your team actually works, rather than a package everyone has to bend around.

Integrations & APIs

Make the systems you already own talk to each other, so people stop being the integration layer.

Legacy Modernisation

Bring an ageing system into the present without stopping the business that depends on it.

Retained Technical Partner

Senior engineering and architecture available every month, without carrying the cost of a permanent hire.

Not sure this is the right starting point?

A short call costs nothing and usually makes the answer obvious. If a different piece of work suits you better, we will say so.
